Gondo, an executive on the verge of gaining financial control of the company where he works, receives a phone call: an unknown man has kidnapped his son and demands 30 million yen for his release. Surprisingly, the child appears at home. By mistake, the victim of the kidnapping was the son of the family's driver. The kidnapper wants the ransom anyway, and if he doesn't collect it, he will kill the child. The payment would imply financial ruin for Gondo.
