The artistic group of the Secession had in the painters Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt two of their maximum representatives. Dead both in 1918, their work contributed to making Vienna one of the European cultural focuses of the early twentieth century. The public continues to enjoy their legacy, between modernism and expressionism, in the halls of Vienna and New York where it is currently exhibited. Masterpieces on the human anxieties and desires that, turned into pop icons, accompany us daily in posters, cards and calendars.
