Charles is a famous neo-noir novel writer who suffers from a creative blockage. To help make him overcome, Ruth, his wife, organizes a meeting with a medium, who ends up summoning Charles's dead first wife, the beautiful and jealous Elvira. To spend all eternity with him, Elvira wants to kill Charles, but Ruth dies. The spirits of Elvira and Ruth come together to turn Charles's life into hell.
