Young and innocent Karin, daughter of a prosperous Christian marriage, has to fulfil the tradition of bringing a candle basket to the Maria´s altar in a church. The tradition tells just a virgin can make this offer. In her way through the forest, Karin meets two men and a boy that she believes to be shepherds. But actually, the adults are hearthless thieves and taking advance of the girl´s innocence, they rape and kill her. The criminals arrive at Karin´s family farm and without knowing who they are talking to, try to sell the girl´s clothes to his own father, who realizes they have murdered his daughter. Vengeance will be brutal and merciless.
