Charlot is a broke, hungry homeless man with a tendency to fall madly in love. Due to a misunderstanding, he is hired in a circus and in the blink of an eye he becomes the main attraction. The public goes crazy with his gaffes. Blinded by the love he feels for the director's daughter, he ignores that she is the star of the show.
