When coming home one night, the veteran varieties artiste Calvero, discover his neighbour Terry, a young dancer woman, almost dead. Disappointed by her life, the young has tried to suicide herself. Harassed by dreams of a past glory, Calvero embrace Terry under his protection, he takes care of her, he feeds her, and he encourages her to come back to the scenarios, forging a great friendship.
