A German filmmaker asks a friend who is a sound technician to meet him in Lisbon. When he arrives, the director has disappeared, leaving behind some tapes with images, but no sound. The technician tirelessly walks through the streets of Lisbon, recording the sounds of the old town to complete the images recorded by his friend.
