Noriko is a 27-year-old single woman who lives happily with her widowed father, caring for him and taking care of the household chores. The old man feels that the time has come for his daughter to marry, even if it means being left alone for good. Noriko is not very convinced to leave him, but eventually accepts the idea. However, the ideal candidate for marriage ends up getting engaged to Noriko's best friend.
