A gang of thieves from the humblest strata of Italian society, on the advice of a retired criminal, prepare a great robbery in the offices of a pawnshop in Rome. Their great hope, despite the clumsiness that characterizes them, is that the success of the robbery will help them escape the misery in which they live. But things do not go as planned.
