6 May 1938. Rome has prepared a parade in honour of Hitler on the occasion of his visit to meet Mussolini. The whole city is in a frenzy to welcome him. But in a tenement house, a housewife, mother of six, and a radio announcer, who for some reason fears the police, remain on the sidelines of the fascist celebrations. An affectionate relationship, full of emotion and trust, develops between them.
