The seemingly perfect live of New York doctor William Harford begins to unravel when his wife Alice confesses to having sexual fantasies about a man she barley knows. Obsessed with the revelation, Harford becomes entangled in the ritual of a secret sect devoted to hedonism. The intrusion puts his life at risk and plunges him into a spiral of paranoia, ambiguous revelation, and repressed desires.
