Zatoichi is a blind nomad who makes a living by giving massages and playing dice. Behind his humble appearance hides a swordsman of almost superhuman speed and precision. Fate leads Zatoichi to a town controlled by a tyrannical feudal lord. Zatoichi decides to take sides and puts all his skills at the service of the citizens. But a samurai with a power equal to his, protects the feudal lord.
