Our festival is an audience-oriented festival related to the SAINT GEORGE DAY (April 23rd), the International Book Day. The program of the BCN FILM FEST pays homage to the cultural character of this festivity and for this reason our Official Selection programs films related to Arts (with a special focus on Literature and book adaptations) and History. The next edition of the festival wil take place on April 18th-26th 2024.
BCN FILM FEST is a young festival (in 2024 we will celebrate our 8th edition) that is growing very quickly. We are very happy with all the guests that we have been able to bring to Barcelona in the last editions, some of them are:
Susan Sarandon (“Thelma & Louise”), Richard Gere (“Norman”), Wim Wenders (“Paris, Texas”), Johnny Depp (“Minamata”), Isabelle Huppert (“La Daronne”), Jeremy Irons (“The Prado Museum”), Oliver Stone (“JFK revisited”), Omar Sy (“Father & Soldier”), Mike Newell (“The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society”), Mike Leigh (“Peterloo”), François Ozon (“Mon Crime”), Fernando Trueba (“El olvido que sere-mos”), Bertrand Tavernier (“Journey through the French Cinema”), Yvan Attal (“Les choses humaines”), Jeremy Thomas (“The storms of Jeremy Thomas”), among others.

Here you can read the description of the sections of our festival:
Official Selection: The Official Selection of our festival pays homage to the cultural character of the SAINT GEORGE festivity, programming films related to History and Arts, with a special focus on Literature. Preferred films for the festival are book adaptations, film productions based on or related to historical events and biopics about relevant figures.
Cinema amb Gràcia: Sidebar section focused on the film genre usually forgotten by film festivals: comedies. The section collects comedies from very different countries, preferring films for wide audiences.
Zona Oberta: Non-competitive section for films that for different reasons are considered of special interest for the programme of the festival by the organization.
The films of the BCN FILM FEST programme are selected by a committee of members of the organization of the festival. Deadline for submissions is February 2nd 2024. Before submitting your film online, please read the pre-selection Regulations and Conditions at our website.
