JOURNALIST CONXITA CASANOVAS APPOINTED AS THE NEW BCN FILM FEST DIRECTOR
Casanovas, with a long career in film journalism, will be responsible of the organization of the next edition of the film festival, which will take place at the Cinemes Verdi from April 22nd to April 30th 2019.
Born in Barcelona, Casanovas arrives to the direction of the BCN FILM FEST after a solid career over more than three decades presenting and directing the historic RNE radio programm “Va de Cine”. With this appointment, she becomes one of the few women directing a film festival in Spain.
She has been awarded several times, among others, with the Alfonso Sánchez Communication Award by the Spanish Film Academy, the Ángel Fernández Santos Award by the Mostra de Cinema Llatinoamericà de Lleida or the Luis Buñuel Award by Calanda FIlm Festival.
