SUSAN SARANDON, FRANÇOIS OZON, OMAR SY, PENELOPE WILTON, NADIA TERESZKIEWICZ, REBECCA MARDER AND WIM WENDERS, DISTINGUISHED INTERNATIONAL GUESTS AT THE BCN FILM FEST

The Festival Internacional de Cinema de Barcelona-Sant Jordi  (BCN FILM FEST) announces the complete programme of its seventh edition, which will be held from 20th to 28th April at the Cines Verdi as the main stage, and which includes 70 titles in the 8 sections of the event. There will be 21 world premieres, 2 international premieres, 17 Spanish premieres and 11 Catalan premieres.

Once again, this year, the festival will be attended by major international figures who will be visiting Barcelona to present their films. Susan Sarandon will attend the screening of "Thelma & Louise", one of the most outstanding films by Ridley Scott, starring Sarandon herself and Geena Davis. Festival goers will have the chance to discuss the film with Sarandon in a Q&A after the screening. Director François Ozon will present to the BCN FILM FEST audience "The Crime Is Mine", his latest film, which will inaugurate this year's festival. He will be accompanied by actresses Nadia Tereszkiewicz and Rebecca Marder. Also visiting us in Barcelona will be Omar Sy, who returns to the big screen with "Father and Soldier", a film about family ties and forgotten heroes. The actress of theatre, series such as "Downton Abbey" and films such as "Calendar Girls" and "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" Penelope Wilton will also be a guest at the festival, which she will attend to present "The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry", the adaptation of the surprising and moving bestseller of the same name by Rachel Joyce. As announced last January, the director Wim Wenders, to whom the festival will pay tribute with a retrospective in the Imprescindibles section, will also be in Barcelona to take part in this BCN FILM FEST.

Jury

The Official Jury of the BCN FILM FEST will be led by the filmmaker and screenwriter Cesc Gay, who will be accompanied by the writer Empar Moliner and the actress Vicky Luengo.

The critics and journalists from the Associació Catalana de Crítics i Escriptors Cinematogràfics (ACCEC) Margarita Chapate, Marc Garriga and Maria Adell will make up the jury for the Critics' Prize and Nous Talents Award for Best Short Film. The jury for the Premi Film-Història (UB) for Best Film for its historical values will be made up of Francesc Sánchez Barba, Juan Vaccaro and Virginia Vaccaro.
