Muerte en Torrevieja is a portrait of a stagnant Spain, living day to day and looking for easy money, working exclusively for tourism, caught in a vicious cycle of fast income in the summer and scarcity in the winter . Chetia thinks she is the queen of Torrevieja, a child who earns money by scamming tourists in illegal balcony betting, but her reality is much more difficult when she returns home: she has to take care of her son, Yeray, a boy who she was forced to have and that anchors her to a city that consumes her and from which she desperately wants to escape.
