Rebel in the Rye tells the story of celebrated but reclusive author, J.D. Salinger, who gained worldwide fame with the publication of his novel, The Catcher in the Rye. The film tells how his love story and his service at World Ward II were the main inspirations for this work and also shows how important his relationship with professor Whit Burnett was in order to find his own voice as a writer.
