East Berlín, late 1989. Wilhelm Powileit is having his 90º birthday party, but he is totally indifferent about this event. An exile of the Nazi regime and a covinced communist, the birthday is supposed to be a reception in his honor with his family, friends and Party comrades. But despite the apparent joy of the guests, the collapse of the Sovietic Union is also present at the party. In addition to this, Willhelm´s grandon has fled to West Germany.
