May 1940. France is dealing with the military and political collapse caused by the German invasion. While Pétain is willing to surrender and negotiate with Hitler, general De Gaulle wants to keep on fighting. This objective will risk many French families' lives, including De Gaulle's. His wife Yvonne, alone with their three children, finds herself on the road of the exodus.
