Jan Bojarski, a young Polish engineer, takes refuge in France during the war. There, he uses his skills to produce forged documents during the German occupation. After the war, he finds himself limited to small, poorly paid jobs… until the day a gangster proposes that he use his exceptional talents to counterfeit banknotes.
