ALBERT SÁNCHEZ PIÑOL, CARMEN CHAPLIN AND DOLORES CHAPLIN IN THE PARALLEL ACTIVITIES OF THE BCN FILM FEST 2021
The author of 'Victus' will talk about his book "Les estructures elementals de la narrativa".
Chaplin's granddaughters, in addition to presenting the first images of his documentary
'Charlie Chaplin. A man of the world', they will participate in a Q&A about their legendary grandfather.
The Barcelona-Sant Jordi International Film Festival (BCN FILM FEST) 2021 offers, within its parallel activities, the presentation of the book “Les estructures elementals de la narrativa” by its author, Albert Sánchez Piñol. The event, with the collaboration of Penguin Random House, FNAC and Casa Seat, will be held on Thursday, April 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at Casa Seat, one of the festival's official venues (free tickets available on the Casa Seat website: www.casa.seat)
In his new work, Sánchez Piñol leaves fiction aside, where he has enjoyed commercial and critical successes such as 'Victus', "Pandora en el congo", or “La piel fría”, to explain, through a very didactic essay, the fundamental elements that make up the construction of a well-told story, be it a novel, a movie or a TV Show.
On the other hand, the BCN FILM FEST organizes, on Sunday April 18th at 12:00 p.m. at the Verdi Cinemas, a special session dedicated to Charles Chaplin that will include the screening of his first feature film, 'The Kid', on the centenary of its premiere, and the presentation of the first images of the documentary 'Charlie Chaplin. A man of the world'. In addition, her director, Carmen Chaplin, will participate in a subsequent Q&A to talk about the figure of her grandfather, the legendary creator of Charlot. The producers of the documentary Silvia Martínez and Dolores Chaplin, also the granddaughter of the director of 'Modern Times', and the director of the Cinematheque of Catalonia, Esteve Riambau, will participate in this Q&A.
The V edition of the BCN FILM FEST will be held from April 15th to 23rd at Verdi Cinemas, Institut Français, CaixaForum and Casa Seat in Barcelona. BCN FILM FEST will comply with all health and safety measures, as well as the maximum capacity established by law at the time of the festival.
