On the summer of 1936 (July 18th), the Spanish Civil War breaks out. In the city of Madrid, a family formed by Mr. Luis, his wife Dolores, and their sons, Manolita and Luisito, share the everyday nature of the war with the maid and the building’s neighbours. Luisito, although he has failed, wants his father to buy him a bicycle. But the situation will make the purchase to be postponed. And the delay, just as the war, will last a lot more than expected.
