Brothers Fernando and Alberto are cooks in a French restaurant in Barcelona. Alberto's political implications force them to escape to Cadaqués with François, a French hippie who lives in the seaside town. Once there, François introduces them to Lola, his girlfriend, an attractive marine biologist and diving enthusiast who gets them a job as a dishwasher at El Surreal, her father Jules' restaurant. El Surreal is a restaurant in Port Lligat that Jules runs in a very peculiar way and always with his admired Salvador Dalí in mind.
