Robert is a businessman convicted of corruption. During his stay in prison, Alberto, a close friend of his adolescence who has led a life very different from his own, has died due to an accident, a free life. Alberto was the brother of a lighthouse keeper from the Basque Country, Mónica, who came to pick up Robert when he was released from jail to go to the lighthouse and throw Alberto's ashes into the sea from the tower. But for the ashes to go to the sea they must wait for the south wind to blow. The businessman and the lighthouse keeper live together for several days in the lighthouse under the shadow of their dead friend and brother.
